Fines imposed on Uber by court of Australia

December 7, Fineko/abc.az. Uber will pay a fine of 21 million Australian dollars ($14.1 million) for defrauding customers in Australia.
ABC.AZ reports that the relevant decision was made by the Federal Court of Australia.
The documents state that Uber regularly violated Australian consumer law by making false or misleading statements about taxi fares and cancellations.
"By specifying the proposed range of fares in the app and on the website, Uber assured consumers that the price of ordering a taxi will not go beyond the specified. However, in reality, the fare for the consumer was almost always higher than suggested, and the actual cost of the trip was lower," the document says.
