Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un signed a document following bipartite summit

June 12, Fineko/abc.az. US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed a document following the first bilateral summit in Singapore.

After the signing ceremony Trump stated he is proud of the summit's achievements.

He also stressed that the preparation of the final document required good will, but both sides will be impressed by the results, and from now on US-North Korea relationships will develop in "quite different plane".

Trump called the signed joint document "a very important document, a pretty comprehensive document", able to settle the "big and dangerous problem".

In addition, the American president said he is ready to invite the DPRK leader to the White House.

Separately, the US president said that the process of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula will begin "very, very soon."

In his turn, Kim Jong-un thanked his American counterpart for the historic meeting and said the parties decided to "leave the past behind." According to the Korean leader, now "the world will see big and great changes".

The details of the signed document have not been disclosed.

The first US-DPRK summit was held on 12 June 2018 at the Capella hotel on the resort island of Sentosa in Singapore. The dialogue began with a handshake of the leaders of countries which have been formally at war since 1953.
