Illegal construction of a 16-storey residential building in Baku stopped

June 20, Fineko/abc.az. The State Committee on Urban Planning & Architecture of Azerbaijan has stopped the construction of a residential building in Nasimi district of Baku.

The Committee informs that illegal construction work in the territory of the fourth micro-district was run by company Komfort Plaza.

"It was found out that despite the Baku City Executive Power allotted a plot of 0.08 hectares to the company for construction, the procedure for obtaining a construction permit has not been finished yet. Committee’s exerts also revealed that the documents of local planning are not developed in accord with the requirements of urban legislation, as the planned construction of a 16-storey building do not conform to the nearby 5-storey buildings, and the construction project is lacking parking lots according to the number of apartments. There is also no children's playground and economic sites," the SCUPA said.

In this regard, the Committee has sent to the Baku Executive Power "The Instruction" on refusal for the construction a building in Nasimi district, 3231 Quarter, Huseyn Seyidzade Street 2. Also, the State Agency for Construction Control Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was informed to ensure the suspension of work on this territory.
