Freight cars sent via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line first time

June 25, Fineko/abc.az. Another innovation on railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars has been introduced.

AzRusTrans reports that in collaboration with ADY Express they transported grain from Russia to Kars in grain–hoppers.

"Grain in 12 cars from Sara station, located in the Orenburg Oblast, was brought to Akhalkalaki station, and after replacement of wheel sets the cars were sent to Kars. The cargo has already arrived at Kars station.

So far, the goods via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line were transported only in containers. At the Akhalkalaki station cargo was transshipped on the other platforms received from Turkey and continued their way," AzRusTrans informed.

The length of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line commissioned on 30 October 2017 is 846 km long, and 504 km of them run through Azerbaijan, 263 km through Georgia and 79 km through Turkey.
