This year, the Center for Assistance to Victims of Human Trafficking provided assistance to 60 victims of human trafficking

July 03, Fineko/abc.az. The Center for Assistance to Victims of Human Trafficking of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has provided assistance to 76 people in the first half of the current year.
60 of them were victims of human trafficking directed by the Head Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Struggle against Human Trafficking. The remaining 16 were the potential victims of human trafficking (people at risk of becoming victims of human trafficking).

Social rehabilitation measures have been undertaken in order to reintegrate victims of trafficking into society and return to normal life style. Considering the needs of these people as well as potential victims of human trafficking, several types of assistance have been provided to them simultaneously. 36 people have been provided with legal, 27 people with medical, 38 people with psychological assistance, 12 people placed in the social shelter of "TAMAS" Regional Development PU in Ganja city. Joint work with the State Employment Service under the Ministry has been carried out to assist the employment of 2 people, the involvement of 8 people in vocational training. The child of one person was placed in kindergarten, the necessary medicines for the treatment of one person was purchased. 

In accordance with the "National Action Plan on the struggle against human trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the years 2014-2018", awareness activities on "Let's say" No! "To human trafficking", "Psychological assistance to survivors of victims of human trafficking" were held in different regions of the country.
