Azerbaijan’s head: all bloody crime culprits to be punished

July 13, Fineko/abc.az. A meeting of the heads of law enforcement agencies of the country has been held under Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Addressing to the meeting the head of state underlined that the bloody crimes committed in Ganja on 3 and 10 July are crimes committed against our statehood, which resulted in the death of two police officers and the wounded, among whom was also the Ganja mayor.

"The terrorist groups that committed this crime want to disrupt stability in Azerbaijan – this is the main purpose of this crime. The crimes were committed to scare the public and create tension under religious slogans, that is a great crime against Islam, which is a peaceful religion. I want to add that those criminals are not Muslims and such crimes are not left unanswered. Criminals and those behind them will not be able to achieve their fictitious goals. The Azerbaijani state and the Azerbaijani people will never allow that," the country’s leader said.

He stressed that the entire Azerbaijani people regarded negatively and with hatred this bloody crime, and the government, in turn, honorably fulfilled its obligations. The criminal gang has been neutralized, and search operations continue. All who are involved in this crime will be punished.

"Such provocative crimes, including armed provocations, terrorist acts, attempted coup d'état, have been committed for several times against our independence, and none of them succeeded. The main cause for that is that there is an alliance between the government and the people and no force, neither external nor internal, can break this alliance," the president said.
