Azersu to end work on reconstruction of water supply and sewage systems of Baku and Absheron Peninsula until late 2017

Azerbaijan’s water operator Azersu continues realizing projects on improvement of water supply and sewage systems in the suburban settlements of Baku.

In accord with the presidential decree on additional measures concerning the reconstruction of the water supply & sewage system of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula the relevant projects are underway in 10 residential locations.

"Projects are being implemented in settlements Binagadi and The 28th May of Binagadi district, settlements Mardakan, Shagan, Shuvelan, and Bina of Khazar district, settlements Mehdiabad and Novkhanı of Absheron district, and settlement Pirishkul and village Gobustan. Construction & installation work is undreway in seven residential locations, and construction work will start soon in three locations more," Azersu informed.

As long as 70 km water and 11 km sewage lines will be laid in 10 residential locations within the framework of projects. The water operator will construct 25 km of water and 2 km of sewer lines in vilages and settlements for a short term. Completion of construction & installation work is scheduled for the end of this year. The projects will ensure improvement of water supply for 37,000 people and the quality of sewage services of 9,000 people. The project is designed to improve water and sewerage services of totally 100,000 people.

Under the decree, the State Budget allocated AZN 13.32 million to Azersu for the above-listed projects.
