August 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

The President’s website says that during the meeting President Aliyev underlined that China is a reliable partner and a friendly country for Azerbaijan.

"President Ilham Aliyev stressed development of bilateral ties and strengthening of political and economic links for the past period. He voiced confidence that the visit of Ms. Li Xiaolin will be interesting and fruitful and will serve to further expansion of relationships between our countries," the website says.

Ms. Xiaolin pointed out that she is visiting Azerbaijan for the first time, and stressed that it is a great honor for her to meet with President Ilham Aliyev.

"She mentioned that members of the Chinese delegation have been deeply impressed by development processes in Baku. Ms. Xiaolin informed about activities of the organization she runs. She said that Azerbaijan is developing under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, adding that it is felt everywhere. Ms. Xiaolin highlighted joint activities with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, pointing out the opportunities for the implementation of interesting projects,” the website says.

The sides discussed issues of economic and humanitarian cooperation. Chinese tourists’ growing interest in Azerbaijan was emphasized during the meeting.
