November 7, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijani government is not considering the question of increasing tariffs on public utility services in 2018, in particular for electricity and water supply.

During the discussion of Draft State Budget 2018 Finance Minister Samir Sharifov has stated that the State Budget will give a loan of AZN 55 million to electricity operator Azerisig and a loan of AZN 22 million to water supply operator Azersu.

"Those loans are mainly associated with the structure of utility tariffs. We can't increase rates as it directly affects the financial situation of the population. But, such a situation affects the financial position of these public utility companies, and we should try to find a compromise," the minister emphasized.
