October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has increased the price for cigarettes starting from today.

One of the selling points has stated that cost of all imported cigarettes in Azerbaijan grew by 20 gapiks.

The price growth was announced, starting from 29 September, and cigarettes of brand Sobranie and Kent disappeared from sale a week before. The sellers explain the rise in price by the fact that wholesale trade chains have increased their selling price.

The previous rise in price for tobacco products in Azerbaijan occurred at the beginning of the year.

The points of sale also say that the suppliers announce an upcoming increase in price for alcoholic beverages as well.

An official statement from the Ministry of Economy on the reasons for the price increase has not yet been reported.
