November 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over 1 million tons of cargo was carried via Trans-Caspian international transport route for Jan-Oct of the year.

At the Baku meeting of the International Association of Trans-Capital International Transport Route Kanat Alpysbayev, the president of Kazakhstan Railways, stated that the traffic forecast for this year was set at the level of 750,000 tons.

"But already for the past 10 months of 2017 it was transported over 1 million tons and before the end of the year we expect to bring the figure up to 1.3 million tons," Alpysbayev said.

He added that traffic target for 2018 is at least 3 million tons of cargo.

"Growth of cargo transportation will be achieved mainly due to expansion of product lines," Alpysbaev emphasized.
