Azerbaijan has closed illegally established fish lakes

November 29, Fineko/abc.az. The State Committee on Property Affairs of Azerbaijan continues taking measures aimed at preventing the illegal use of land.

The Committee reports that the monitoring was carried out to reveal facts of creation of artificial lakes for fishing.

"The monitoring has shown that 537 artificial fish lakes have been created in 30 districts of the country. It was revealed that most of them were created on agriculture-suitable lands, lands of the state and municipalities, and in the territories of winter pastures," the SCPA said.

Following the monitoring it was suspended activity of 121 lakes, and lands were returned for agricultural use.

Administrative acts have been drawn up on 269 lakes, and documents on 25 lakes submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
