December 18, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and BP have signed the Memorandum on the joint study of the potential of renewable energy sources.

The Ministry reports that the Memo was signed in the context of the beginning of the formation of the regulatory framework in the field of renewable energy sources.

"The today-signed Memo will be a new stage in the development of renewable energy sources. Our cooperation, based on strong partnership, will also be effective in the field of renewable energy sources and will contribute to development of clean energy," Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said during the signing ceremony.

In his turn, BP Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia & Turkey Gary Jones said that the Company is ready to work together with the Azerbaijani government to explore the potential in the field of renewable energy sources and supports the creation of a base for promotion of this sector.
