EU to impose retaliatory tariffs on cars for U.S.

January 25, Fineko/abc.az. The European Union is ready to introduce duties on imports of American goods for totally EUR 20 bn.

European Commission on Trade’s director general Jean-Luc Demarty stated that such measures will be taken if the US President Donald Trump fulfills his threat and imposes additional duties on European cars.

"We must be prepared to respond symmetrically and effectively to any new trade restrictions the U.S. may impose on us. We’ve prepared a list of goods imported from the U.S. for EUR 20 bn, in respect of which measures can be taken," Mr. Demarty said.
