Vladimir Putin lifts some economic sanctions against Turkey

17:32 - 6.02.2019

February 6, Fineko/abc.az. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the abolition of some special economic measures against Turkey.

The restrictions were introduced by Putin’s decree from 28 November 2015 "On the measures to ensure the national security of the Russian Federation and the protection of Russian citizens from criminal and other illegal actions and the application of special economic measures against the Republic of Turkey". Then there was a crisis in relationships between Moscow and Ankara after on 24 November the Turkish air force shot down Russian bomber Su-24 in the sky over Syria.

In accord with the decree the number of Turkish citizens who are excluded from the restrictive measures imposed against this country in November 2015 is expanding. Now among the citizens of Turkey, for whom an exception was made during their trips to Russia, are professional drivers engaged in international road transport, as well as the owners of valid special passports, sent to Russia on short-term business trips, including the Turkish diplomatic mission in Russia.

Restrictions will be lifted in case of a similar decision by the Turkish side.
