Trump says about nomination of David Malpass for WB head post

February 7, Fineko/abc.az. US President Donald Trump has nominated the candidature of Deputy Finance Minister for International Affairs David Malpass for the post of head of the World Bank (WB).

The American leader made a relevant statement in the White House in the presence of the candidate, journalists and Cabinet members.

Malpass has been holding his current position in the U.S. Treasury Department since September 2017. He is known for his conservative views. So, Malpass previously stated that international organizations, such as the WB Bank, "increased and became more importunate," and "the task to refocus them has become urgent and more difficult".
