February 22, Fineko/abc.az. The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan has made an interesting statement today.

Committee’s chair Tahir Budagov says that according to initial estimates, the 10 millionth citizen of Azerbaijan will be born in late March or early April.

"In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice and the State Migration Service, we are monitoring this process," Budagov said.

He added that in recent years there has been a decrease in the rate of natural growth of the population. According to the results of the population census conducted in 2009, the average composition of family members was 4.7 people. This figure will be clarified after the census to be organized on October 1-10," Budagov said.

The Committee reports that the population of Azerbaijan as of 1 January 2019 reached 9 981 457 people.
