November 24, Fineko/abc.az. Analytical agency Turstat made a ranking of the best cities on the CIS area for winter traveling.

The Agency reported that in Russia New Year’s holidays will be held from 30 December 2017 to 8 January 2018.

The ranking is based on the analysis of the popularity of the tours in the winter of 2017-18. Minsk, Almaty and Baku are the leaders in the ranking of winter trips to the CIS countries in the period of New Year’s holidays.

Top 10 of the most popular CIS cities in the winter of 2017-2018 consists of Minsk, Almaty, Baku, Astana, Yerevan, Tashkent, Brest, Bishkek, Chisinau and Ganja.

Tourists travel to the CIS capitals on weekends and start on tours as well to ski resorts: Chimbulak (Kazakhstan), Shahdag and Tufandag (Azerbaijan), Silichi and Logoisk (Minsk Oblast of Belarus). According Turstat, tourists come to the cities of the CIS in winter on average for 4 days and spend $75 a day.

Bishkek and Chisinau are popular among tourists as CIS cities for cheap traveling, while Baku and Astana are leading for the rest of deluxe class.
