Georgia tests first passenger train on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway

March 27, Fineko/abc.az. The first passenger train arrived from Turkey to the Georgian city of Akhalkalaki on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.

The train will run the Georgian section of the railroad in test regime.

The 826 km long railway was opened in October 2017. It connects the railway networks of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey into a single transport system. Azerbaijan plans to start regular passenger carriages from Baku to Turkish Kars through Georgia already this year. Trains of Swedish company Stadler will run on this line.
