Azerbaijan has put forward its candidacy as a venue for WPC World Petroleum Congress in 2023

May 8, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has put forward its candidacy as a venue for the Congress of the World Petroleum Council in 2023.

The decision was made today at a meeting of public association “National Oil Committee of Azerbaijan".

Parviz Shahbazov, the energy minister and chairman of the Azerbaijan National Oil Committee, noted that 19 members of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Oil Committee (ANNK) adopted this decision unanimously.

The Azerbaijan National Oil Committee was founded in 2005 and in the same year it was elected a member of the World Petroleum Council (WPC) at the Congress in Johannesburg. The main organizer of the World Petroleum Congress, held every 3 years, is the World Petroleum Council, established in 1933. The Congress is an international platform for discussing important issues and making important decisions in the oil and gas industry.
