Deputy PM Ali Akhmedov: Growth of import in Azerbaijan is reaction of business to purchasing power of population

May 15, Fineko/abc.az. Deputy Prime Minister Ali Akhmedov of Azerbaijan commented on the talks about growth of import in the country, amid the expected decline and growth of domestic production.

The Deputy PM has stated that there is nothing wrong with the growth of imports, given the fact of ongoing positive balance of import & export operations.

"Indeed, the growth of imports is not linked with the difficulties of domestic production, but on the contrary, it is explained by the increase in purchasing power and living standards of the population, to which business reacts actively," Akhmedov emphasized.
