Tekfen and SOCAR sign Memo of Understanding on construction of a new urea plant

May 31, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR’s president Rovnag Abdullayev met with the delegation led by Murat Gigin, chairman of Turkey’s group of companies Tekfen, and Jahit Oklap, president of the group of companies.

During the meeting Abdullayev and Gigin signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the construction of a new urea plant in Azerbaijan.

Based on the experience gained during the construction of the existing urea plant, SOCAR plans to build a plant in Sumgait, and its daily production capacity will be 2,000 tons of urea and 1,200 tons of ammonia.

The Memo also envisages cooperation in the marketing of existing and new fertilizer complexes.
