Azerbaijan’s goods turnover with Turkic states reached $2.1 bn

December 1, Fineko/abc.az. The 7th meeting of Economy Ministers of the Turkic States Council’ member countries took place in Istanbul on Thursday.

Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev has stated that Azerbaijan's turnover with the Turkic-speaking countries totaled $2.1 bn and trade surplus - $100 million for the first 9 months of 2017.

"Over Jan-Sept 2017 Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with the member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) made up $2.1 bn, including export for $1.1 bn and import for $1 bn," the minister said.

He said that the TC countries accounted for 15% of Azerbaijan’s trade turnovers (13% of export and 16% of import).

Mustafayev pointed out that the member countries had a massive potential to increase mutual investments.

The minister also proposed the benefits of using Baku International Merchant Seaport, the industrial parks and blocks of Azerbaijan and the logistical centre in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
