Deposits in foreign currency increased

June 27, Fineko/abc.az. The Financial Market Supervision Authority (FIMSA) has published a report on the general situation in the banking sector as of 31 May 2019.

According to the report, retail deposits amounted to AZN 8.527 bn in May 2019.

The deposits in the national currency increased by 1.3% in May (AZN 47.7 million). Total deposits of legal entities grew by 0.3% in May (AZN 29.1 million) up to AZN 10.205 bn. Term deposits for the month increased by 18.5% (AZN 319 million) up to AZN 2.47 bn. The deposits in the national currency grew by 3.3% (AZN 128 million) up to AZN 3.97 bn. Term deposits in foreign currency increased by 22.1% (AZN 331.8 million) up to AZN 1.836 bn.
