July 24, Fineko/abc.az. A meeting with the World Bank’s mission on the initial assessment of Azerbaijan Employment Support Project has been held at the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection.

The meeting was attended by Labor Minister Sahil Babayev and head of the pre-appraisal mission and senior economist Sandor Karacsony.

The MLSP reports that Azerbaijan Employment Support Project will contribute to the expansion of the program of self-employment in Azerbaijan, attraction of the unemployed to self-employment, creation of access to the formal labor market and productive employment.

The project provides for the selection of the direction of self-employment on sectors of the economy based on the analysis of the labor market, the definition of opportunities for participation of the unemployed in the program of self-employment, as well as the preparation of training programs and organization of trainings for program participants, providing assets of successful business ideas, periodic monitoring of the activity of program participants and support in other spheres.
