ADY Express and Baku International Sea Trade Port start carrying a new type of transit cargo

July 31, Fineko/abc.az. A subsidiary of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways - ADY Express LLC and the Baku International Sea Trade Port has begun shipping a new kind of transit cargo, ADY Express informs.

As a result of cooperation of ADY Express LLC and the Baku Port with the Georgian side, the transportation of a new type of transit cargo - ammonium nitrate (saltpeter fertilizer) in the amount of 40,000 tons was agreed and started. ADY Express, acting as a freight forwarder, delivered saltpeter in 126 wagons from the Georgian city of Rustavi to the new Baku Port located in Alyat settlement.

And in the port 8,800 tons of saltpeter were successfully transshipped to two vessels and the cargo was sent to the port of Turkmenbashi. Under the agreement, after the transportation of the initial volume (40,000 tons) in August, it is planned to carry an additional 80,000 tons of saltpeter via the same route by the end of this year.
