Oil Fund bought up to 44.52 tons of gold this year

August 2, Fineko/abc.az. According to the report on the results of investment activity for 1st half of 2019, the State Oil Fund (SOFAZ) purchased up to 24 tons of gold in the 2nd quarter of this year.

As of 30 June 2019 the total amount of gold in Fund’s investment portfolio amounted to 95.47 tons. As of the end of Q1 of 2019 the total volume of gold in the investment portfolio reached 71.75 tons. Thus, the Oil Fund purchased 23.72 tons of gold for April-June of this year.

In general, compared with the end of last year, SOFAZ purchased 44.52 tons of gold this year.

At present, investments in gold make up 10.3% of SOFAZ investment portfolio ($4.356 bn of the dollar portfolio).
