Foreign trade turnover grew 26.5% for past 11 months

December 13, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 11 months of 2017, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totaled $20.29 bn that is by $4.26 bn more than for the 2016 same term ($16.03 bn).

The State Customs Committee reports that export for Jan-Nov of the year reached $12.5 bn and import $7.79 bn.

Azerbaijan’s positive balance in foreign trade over the past 11 months of 2017 amounted to $4.7 bn that is 7.9-fold higher than for the 2016 same term (598.18 million).

For Jan-Nov 2016 country’s foreign trade turnover reached $16.03 bn, including export of $8.3 bn and import of $7.716 bn.

Thus, for the first 11 months of 2017 Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover grew by 26.5%, export by 50.3%, and import by 0.9%.

Export included mainly oil (77.09%); natural gas (9.25%); petroleum products (2.33%); electricity (0.33%); fruits and vegetables (3.62%); tea (0.07%); oils of vegetable or animal origin (0.13%); sugar (0.31%); alcoholic and non-alcoholic products (0.16%); chemical products (0.58%); plastics and goods from it (0.7%); cotton (0.23%); cotton fiber (0.12%); ferrous metals and products made of them (0.59%); aluminium and products from it (0.87%); other goods (3.62%).

Import of foods made up 16.12%; tobacco and tobacco products 1.82%; cement 0.08%; pharmaceutical products 2.93%; plastic and gods from it 3.59%; wood products 2.48%; ferrous metals and goods from it 9.4%; machines, mechanisms, electric machines, equipment and spare parts 21.44%; transportation vehicles and spare parts 12.39%; furniture 0.98%; and others 28.77%.

Over Jan-Nov 2017 Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with 183 countries.
