Javid Gurbanov: Two new depots to be commissioned

October 11, Fineko/abc.az. Transportation via North-South transport corridor has exceeded 400,000 tons of cargo this year. For Jan-Sept of the year 700,000 tons of Russian cargo was transported by rail, says Azerbaijan Railways’ (ADY) chair Javid Gurbanov.

He underlined that Turkmenistan's cargo carriages by rail also observes growth. There is also a rise in rail traffic via Lapis Lazuli corridor.

Gurbanov also announced ADY’s further goals.

"Among ADY’s other tasks are to extend Baku-Ganja route to Agstafa, construct a new railway line to Shahdag and Gabala, reconstruct the railway line in the direction of Balaken, electrify the railway line, and commission two new depots," Gurbanov emphasized.
