December 14, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting with representatives of the companies involved in processing and production of cotton.

The Ministry reports that the sides reached an arrangement to increase purchase prices for raw cotton in 2018

"The issues of cotton harvest in the current year and plans for 2018 have been discussed during the meeting with the reps of the MKT IK and CTS AGRO companies. Also, the sides agreed on raising the purchasing prices for raw cotton from farmers. This step will increase the interest of farmers to cotton cultivation and will enable to increase the financial status. The purchase price on each grade of cotton will be increased by AZN 100-110 a ton," the MoA said in a statement.

In accord with the agreement in 2018 the purchase price per ton of cotton the 1st grade will increase from 500 up to 600 manats, 2nd grade from 470 up to 580 manats, 3rd grade from 440 to 540 manats, and 4th grade from 400 up to 500 manats.
