IBA cut interest expense in 9 months

November 5, Fineko/abc. az. The international Bank of Azerbaijan published financial indicators for 9 months (January-September) of 2019.

As reported ABC.AZ, during this period, the Bank's interest income amounted to AZN 334 million 194 thousand, in the corresponding period of the current year they increased by AZN 308 million 866 thousand, that is, by 8.2%. In particular, interest income from loans to customers increased from AZN 127 million 861 thousand to AZN 144 million 282 thousand (an increase of 12.8%).

Non-interest income of the Bank also increased. Thus, if in the 9 months of last year the non-interest income of the International Bank of Azerbaijan amounted to 80 million 716 thousand manats, in the corresponding period of this year they amounted to 100 million 335 thousand manats (an increase of 24.3%). While the Bank's interest income increased, interest expenses, on the contrary, decreased. That is, compared to January-September 2018, interest expenses of the International Bank of Azerbaijan decreased by 20.7% and amounted to 71 million 684 thousand manats, while non-interest expenses increased by 37% and amounted to 113 million 176 thousand manats.
