December 6, Fineko/abc.az. The opening of the SOCAR Energy Management Center has taken place on the area of the Eco Park in Gala settlement.

The ceremony was attended by SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev and the company's management.

The Center was built at the expense of grant funds within the framework of the joint project of SOCAR and the UNDP National Action Plan on the reduction of carbon emissions in the fuel-consuming sector of Azerbaijan (NAMA). Center’s main function is to control the use of energy generated on alternative energy sources installed within the NAMA project in the territories of Garadag, Sumgait and Gala.

The Energy Management Center is a center associated with generator of alternative energy - wind, solar panels, and hydropower. It is planned to organize the educational process and training of engineers, schoolchildren, etc.
