Deputy PM: Azerbaijan expects growth of foreign exchange earnings

January 14, Fineko/abc.az. The matters of introduction of Russian system Mir in Azerbaijan are under study in the country with the purpose to increase non-cash transactions, and if in the near future it meets the interests of our economy and the country, this system will be introduced.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev at the 13 January meeting devoted to the results of 2019 and chaired by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the Deputy PM, as a result of the introduction of the system, tourism opportunities, as well as foreign exchange earnings in Azerbaijan are expected to increase.

Touching the matters of Azerbaijan-China relationships, Mustafayev noted that the current country is a new market for Azerbaijan:

"There is positive growth dynamics in Azerbaijan's exports to China compared with previous years. There are several trading and wine houses in China. We believe the Chinese market can play positive role for Azerbaijan's processed agricultural products, and this work is considered necessary in terms of developing trade relations with China. We have the second trade representative office in China. As a result of activity of the trade representative office, significant results have been achieved in the growth of non-oil exports and trade turnover., passage of China’s container trains from the territory of Azerbaijan to the territory of Turkey is already ensured via railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars."
