Azerbaijan ranks 3rd place among Georgia`s foreign trade partners

February 14, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia's foreign trade turnover for January 2020 amounted to $882.4 million (rise of 5.7% against January 2019), according to the report of the National Statistical Service of Georgia.

Last month the value of imports in Georgia's foreign trade amounted to $619.7 million (by 3.9% more against January 2019).

This January exports totaled $262.6 million that is by 10% more than for January 2019.

The Ministry of Economy & Sustainable Development of Georgia informs that the growth of foreign trade turnover is associated with several factors. One of them is to expand the geography of foreign markets. Another important factor is the diversification of exports, and work in this direction will continue in the future.

According to the Ministry, Azerbaijan is one of the most active partners among Georgia's foreign trade partners and ranks 3rd after Turkey and Russia. The next places in the list are occupied by China, Europe and the CIS countries.
