February 20, Fineko/abc.az. A structural reform has been carried out in gas operator Azerigaz in accordance with an order signed by Azerigaz’s general director Ruslan Aliyev.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Azerigaz that the Baku Regional Gas Sales Department, the Baku Regional Department of Gas Measuring Devices and the Baku Regional Department for Maintenance of Gas Pipelines & Devices merged and the Baku Regional Gas Sales Department was re-formed on their basis.

The Azerigaz’s offices with staff of about 100 low-paid employees will close and be transferred to the new Department.

However, no reduction on wages is expected in the course of company’s structural reforms. On the contrary, there will be an increase in the salaries of some employees. In general, structural reforms will not lead to staff reduction.

The ongoing structural reform is primarily carried out for the convenience and satisfaction of gas consumers. So, until today, the gas consumers have rightfully expressed dissatisfaction with the use of certain services of Azerigaz.
