December 28, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and Belarus held a series of talks on the connection of the Belarusian railway line to the North-South Project.

Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Gennady Akhramovich has stated that his country is interested in the connection with railway project Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.

"Azerbaijan is becoming a serious hub. Belarus, which is the hub in European direction, is also interested to develop cooperation in this sphere. Within the transport routes – the Great Silk Road – 3,000 container trains passed through Belarus,  and next year we intend to increase this number by 1.5 times," he emphasized.

The diplomat pointed out that Belarus has been supplying its products to Iran through the Caspian Sea, but with taking into account the connection to the North-South Project, such supplies are now possible by rail.
