European Central Bank to buy bonds for EUR 750 bn

March 19, Fineko/abc.az. The European Central Bank (ECB) is to buy bonds for EUR 750 bn (about $820 bn) to calm financial markets and protect the euro zone economy, which is struggling with the impact of the coronavirus.

It is reported with reference to foreign media that the relevant statement was made by ECB president Christine Lagarde.

"Exceptional times require extraordinary measures. We have no limits to our obligations on the euro," she emphasized.
