March 19, Fineko/abc.az. Discovery of a new oil field in Azerbaijan will allow increasing oil production in the country.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Eldar Suleymanov, Professor of the Gas Processing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Oil & Industry.

The professor stressed that the discovery of this field is also a contribution to future generations: "The field, the exploration of which is confirmed today, will be developed within the next several decades. Drilling and production will be carried out there. This will also create new jobs in Azerbaijan and increase employment."
Prof. Suleymanov added that the development of a new oil field will make a significant contribution to Azerbaijan's oil revenues.

According to information distributed today, SOCAR and Norwegian company Equinor have confirmed the discovery of offshore field Karabakh, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, 120 km east of Baku.
