14:29 - 1.04.2020

April 1, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of traffic via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line has increased in connection with the coronovirus epidemic.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Khazar Ibragim in an interview for TV channel Real TV.

The diplomat noted that the infection may have affected the more active functioning of the BTK railroad.

According to Ibragim, work is underway to increase the volume of traffic in Kars and at the railroad station located on the border with Georgia and Turkey: "Currently, two block trains have left Turkey for Azerbaijan. You know there are certain TIRs that have traveled to Central Asia, and currently they can't go directly. They are also planned to be sent by the BTK train. There are such plans. That is, after preventing the virus, we’ll see that the capacity and volume of BTK traffic did not fall at all."
