January 9, Fineko/abc.az. The Caspian States have decided to establish a uniform regime of state control of ships in ports, by analogy with the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.

The Ministry of Investments & Development of Kazakhstan informs that together with relevant governmental agencies of other countries the Kazakh Ministry is working on the coordination of the provisions concerning the port control.

"A unified approach will enable to improve technical safety of marine vessels and exclude operation of sub-standard ships in the region. This, in turn, will help minimize the rate of maritime accidents, increase the safety of life, health of crew members and passengers of vessels and ensure the safety of vehicles and cargo," the Ministry said in a statement.

Besides, this will promote to reduction of the number of inspections of marine vessels in good technical condition and increase of efficiency of use of resources for audits of transport that is potentially dangerous from angle of safety of maritime navigation.
