AQTA statement: Ban on import of animal products lifted

April 17, Fineko/abc.az. A range of restrictions regarding veterinary medicine has been lifted by a decision of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to AQTA that based on the official data from the World Animal Health Organization, the restrictions have been lifted on the import of live animals or animal products from different countries on highly pathogenic avian flu, newcastle, nodular dermatitis, foot-and-mouth disease and bluthang disease in small horned animals.

At the same time, in connection with the decision, along with business entities operating in this area, the relevant veterinary authorities of opposite countries were informed and the Agency applied to the State Customs Committee for taking appropriate measures.
