17:17 - 2.06.2020

June 2, Fineko/abc.az. It has been extracted 121 bn cu m of natural gas at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to date.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in BP’s Report on Sustainable Development of Azerbaijan for 2019.

Since the beginning of the first production to date, 28 million tons of condensate have been extracted from the field. For Jan-Mar 2020  it was produced 4.7 bn standard cubic meters of gas and about 1 million tons (7.7 million barrels) of condensate were produced from the Shah Deniz field together with the Shah Deniz Alpha and Shah Deniz Bravo platforms. The maximum output capacity of existing Shah Deniz rigs is currently 56 million standard cubic meters per day, or about 20 bn cu m a year.

Since receiving the first gas from the Shah Deniz Bravo platform at the end of July 2018, production has been gradually increasing. During the second stage of field development, i.e. at Shah Deniz-2, a total of 17 wells were drilled for production and subsequent gradual growth, of which 16 were completed.
