EU`s GDP decreased by 3.2% for Q1 of 2020

June 9, Fineko/abc.az. GDP in the 19-member Eurozone declined in the first quarter of 2020.

ABC.AZ reports that in this region GDP decreased by 3.6% versus the previous quarter and by 3.1% against the same term of 2019.

As for the EU, Union's GDP also declined by 3.2% in the 1st quarter of this year against the previous quarter and by 2.6% compared with 1st quarter of 2019.

Despite that, some EU member states observed economic growth. So, in the 1st quarter the economy of Ireland grew by 1.2%, Bulgaria and Romania by 0.3%, and Sweden by 0.1%.

The economies of France and Italy shrank by 5.3%, while those of Spain and Slovakia shrank by 5.2%.
