Meeting of Expert Council of Caspian European Club held


The closed meeting of the Expert Council of the Caspian European Club has been hosted January 17, 2018.

Addressing the event, Chief Executive Officer of the Caspian European Club Mustafa Abbasbeyli thanked the newly appointed Minister of Taxes of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov for his openness and readiness for a dialogue with the member companies of the Caspian European Club. “The Minister keeps in constant contact and reacts promptly to requests and proposals of the Club’s members”, he said.

According to him, the Caspian European Club intends to host a number of events in 2018. One of them is Caspian Energy Finance Forum to be held on February 28. Government officials in charge of the financial, banking and insurance sectors of Azerbaijan are expected to attend Caspian Energy Finance Forum.

Mustafa Abbasbeyli said the aim of this meeting is to discuss and approve a package of proposals and ways to address them in the tax, customs, banking and insurance fields. This package will be submitted to the appropriate government agencies.

Mustafa Abbasbeyli recalled that based upon international experience the Expert Council of the Caspian European Club jointly with the member companies of the Club is preparing proposals for development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan and minimizing the interference of the regulatory authorities in the activities of the private sector.

Mustafa Abbasbeyli highlighted the effectiveness of the activities of the Expert Council of the Caspian European Club, noting that most proposals of the Club were accepted.

The Caspian European Club was established in June 2002 with the support of the largest oil and gas companies operating in the Caspian-Black Sea region. His Excellency President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is the Chairman of the Caspian European Club.

Since the very establishment the Caspian European Club has promoted attraction of the oil industry revenues for the development of the non-oil sector. The Caspian European Club, which brings together more than 5,000 member companies and organizations, operates in 70 countries around the world and is active in supporting the dialogue between the government agencies and the private sector.
