Turkish Airlines cuts wages by 50%

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish Airlines is discussing the matter of cutting the salary of pilots by up to 50%, and other staff members by up to 30%.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to news agency Azertaj that the airline's budget for 2017 is $1.8 bn.

In case of a positive result of the discussions, the salary of the company's employees will be reduced to the level of payments in 2018.

It should also be noted that layoffs were prohibited in Turkey during the pandemic period.

Currently the salary of a co-pilot who has completed 2-year training on Turkish Airlines is about $4,400, and the monthly income of a pilot-captain of a large aircraft is about $14,000.
