July 13, Fineko/abc.az. The Prime Minister sent a request to the Constitutional Court regarding the blocked deposits in banks declared bankrupt.

The request addressed by the Cabinet of Ministers to the specified court justifies the need to interpret the relevant law in order to protect the interests of depositors in those banks.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by MP Vugar Bayramov.

He stressed that the acceptance of deposits by prohibited banks is not the fault of citizens.

From this angle, the PM’s request on this issue is commendable: "In the coming days, the court will explain its decision on this matter. It is assumed that after this decision, citizens will be able to return their savings as soon as possible. In general, this issue once again contributes to the further strengthening of banking supervision and the introduction of a new deposit insurance mechanism."
