Cargo from China to Europe is supplied via railway corridor Baku-Tbilisi-Kars from 19 January

January 22, Fineko/abc.az. Delivery of cargo from China to Europe via international railway corridor Baku-Tbilisi-Kars has started.

The train, loaded with engineering equipment and other goods, left the city of Urumqi on 19 January. The train that should transport goods via transport corridor East-West to Europe will stop in the port of Kazakhstan, then will be delivered to Baku by sea, and then to Europe by railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.

Total length of route East-West is 4,186 km. It is planned to deliver goods from China to Europe via it for eight days. In the current year it is planned to supply 1,400 cargo containers from Urumqi to Europe. The East-West project provides for delivery of goods from China to Europe through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
