6 bn cu m of gas exported to Turkey for past 2 years

July 22, Fineko/abc.az. From 30 June 2018 to the present 6 bn cu m of natural gas have been delivered to Turkey via TANAP.

ABC.AZ reports that this is informed by SOCAR Turkey Enerji A.Ş. (STEAŞ). Over Jan-Jun 2020 TANAP delivered 1.9 bn cu m of gas to Turkey.

Two years have passed since the first industrial natural gas within Shah Deniz Project 2 in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea was transported to Turkey via the TANAP pipeline.

TANAP delivered 2 bn cu m of gas to Turkey in the first year of commercial gas supply. The second year of trade operations ended on 30 June of this year, and as of this date, the volume of Azerbaijani gas transported by TANAP amounted to 6 bn cu m. In the next period, the pipeline will transport 6 bn cu m of gas a year. The current capacity of the pipeline is 16 bn cu m, and it is expected to reach 23 bn cu m in 2023 and 31 bn cu m in 2026. At the initial stage, 10 bn cu m of the 16 bn cu m of Azerbaijani gas that will be transported via the TANAP pipeline will be sold to Europe and 6 bn cu m to Turkey. Azerbaijan will transport natural gas to Europe, and 21.4 million cu m of gas has been pumped into the TAP pipeline connected to TANAP for testing.
