July 29, Fineko/abc.az. Officials who demanded money from citizens in exchange for renting a land plot with forged documents have been detained.

ABC.AZ was informed at the General Prosecutor’s Office that the GPO Main Anti-Corruption Department investigated in connection with the fact that Sahib Khalilov, who holds the post of chairman of Yarmamedbagi Municipality of Zardab district, and Rahim Khalilov, who worked as a representative of Zardab district mayor demanded a bribe of 10,000 manats from citizens in exchange for renting 74 hectares of municipal land, on the basis of a fictitious lease agreement from 2007 for 25 years (from 2007 to 2032). Both individuals were detained as suspects on 28 July 2020.
