A traditional fair of honey opens in Baku

A new honey fair has opened in Baku today.

During the opening of the fair Deputy Agriculture Minister Seyfaddin Talibov has stated that this year 333 beekeepers presented their honey products at the fair, and this figure is by 78 more than last year.

"107.5 tons of strained honey, 5.5 tons of comb honey, and about 1,200 tons of other bee products have been exhibited for sale this year. Last year, it was exhibited only 75 tons of strained honey. The fair involves representatives of all the economic regions of the country. The largest number of beekeepers (107 people) have arrived from Lankaran, while 76 represent Shaki-Zagatala zone and 60 are from Ganja-Gazakh zone,” the deputy minister said.

He added that in the period of organization of the fair it was taken 3,400 samples of the product, and 509 of them or 22.5 tons failed to meet the standards and were removed from sale.
